Cheryl A. Phillips, wife, mother and minister, is a native of Washington, DC. She was educated in the DC Public School System and at Norfolk State College (now Norfolk State University) in Norfolk, VA, where she majored in Music Education.
A multi-talented and highly motivated person, Cheryl has been actively involved in ministry for more than 30 years in a variety of capacities including Children’s Ministry, Music Ministry, Church Administration, and Women’s Ministry. She is a certified Entrepreneurship Trainer in two curriculums, and is a certified instructor in relationships, fatherhood and family curriculums. Cheryl has the distinction of being the first female radio announcer at WGOD – FM 98, a gospel station in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
Cheryl has traveled extensively, teaching and singing in major venues. Together with her husband, Charles, they have traveled to over 30 nations of the world. They are in demand as preachers and teachers individually, and as a team; teaching workshops, seminars and retreats for men, women, couples, youth, and singles having a special emphasis on relationships, sex, low self-esteem, and empowerment. Cheryl also teaches workshops on Music, Praise and Worship, and Leadership. She is filled with compassion and loves to see others’ lives changed for the better through the power of learning. She has the ability to touch people of various social, economic, educational and religious backgrounds.
Serving faithfully, along with her husband in the pastorate of the rapidly growing Kingdom Christian Center Church in Lanham, MD, Cheryl serves as an Ordained Elder and Ministry Administrator. She is also President and CEO of OASIS Community Empowerment and Development Corporation, a 501(c)3 organization In Washington, DC that emphasizes strengthening families to improve their quality of life through education, entrepreneurship, community enhancement and empowerment. OASIS’s Fatherhood Initiative has reached more than 70 fathers in the southeast section of DC in its first year.
Cheryl is also an Executive Trustee of the International Third World Leaders Association and serves in an advisory capacity to many organizations globally.
Cheryl is Founder and President of WIMLI (Women In Ministry and Leadership International), a ministry to and for women in ministry and various disciplines, and she is writing her first book, The Power of Submission. She also has one CD to her credit entitled, Your Majesty, of which she is very proud because her husband was the Executive Producer and her son, Warren was the Producer, writer, arranger, background vocalist and instrumentalist.
Cheryl received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Logos International University and Graduate School in Jacksonville, FL.
Cheryl is proud of the four children that she and Charles have parented, and their spouses. They are also the proud grandparents of 7: 2 grandsons and 5 granddaughters.
